What PPC Can Teach Your About SEO
Posted on June 3rd, 2009 in Marketing | No Comments »
The more time spent focusing on Internet marketing, the more commonality I find between different marketing disciplines. Take pay-per-click advertising for example. PPC can be one of the most powerful tools you use to improve the effectiveness of your search engine optimization campaigns.
Just a like a company’s house list, the information they gather from their own PPC campaigns can provide a significant boost to the effectiveness of their search engine optimization efforts. The key is to know what information you’re looking for and how to use it to generate qualified visitors to your website.
The greatest part of PPC, is that it gives you a good deal of data about which type of website browsers are the best. That is to say that through pay-per-click, you can find the right browsers that convert into buyers. This information can then be used to make your marketing more targeted – improving conversion at a much lower cost.
The concept that I teach in SEO training is the most effective way to combine pay-per-click advertising with search engine optimization is to focus on conversions. What keywords have you promoted through pay per click advertising that led to conversions? If you’ve been running PPC for a while and you are still unsure, then consider expanding your analytic capabilities to include Google conversion tracking.
By looking at your PPC results, you can quickly find the keywords that lead to conversions. This information is golden. Not only can you use this to generate more traffic to your website, but you can also use this information to drive the right kind of traffic to your site. With the right focus, you can improve conversions and lower costs – because you’re not attracted bad traffic, rather, you’re only attracting the type of browsers who want your product or service.
An example of this might be someone promoting an ebook on how to fix a car. If the highest converting keyword is, car repair, then you should consider car repair as a keyword phrase you must optimize for. Organic traffic to this term will produce targeted web site visitors and conversions for little or no money as you improve your rankings.
After you’ve gotten more sophistication around converting pay per click terms and started an optimization campaign, it’s time to focus on other elements that can help with conversion. One of the most important is your web site and landing page. Most people work to optimize search terms that drive individuals to a web site. If that’s the case with you consider looking at your home page or web site landing page with a new perspective. Once a visitor is there, do you have a clear call to action? If not, consider revamping your landing pages to get browsers to take action.
Whether you’re new to SEO or consider yourself a search engine optimization expert, leveraging your pay-per-click advertising is the best investment you can make. Determine which keywords generate the type of traffic that is most valuable to you and optimize around these terms. They will generate more traffic and revenue at a lower cost.

How Consultants Get clients
Posted on June 1st, 2009 in Marketing | No Comments »
The strategy and tactics of “how to get my clients” really needs to be a serious integral consideration in an independent consultant’s foundation business plan. It cannot sensibly be left to “we’ll worry about that later”.
But there can hardly be a short answer even for a starting point. Ask the internet search engine Google for “Independent Consultants” and it lists 232,000,000 websites. Both Yahoo and Alta Vista list 133,000,000 sites when asked the same question. It is inescapable that many of all these millions, if not most, will have settled for different approaches to the “how-do-I-get-my-clients?” question.
Some solutions will suit some consultants’ circumstances and intentions and other solutions will be the right way to go for others. It does have to be said however that many good business plans are likely to have many things in common.
Illustrative of how things can be different will be even the basic matter of where you live. If you have it in mind to become a business consultant of some kind and you live in, or within easy reach of, a busy, modern, major commercial centre, it is likely that you will have a good prospective client base waiting for you to tap into it and that you would create a client-acquisition plan to suit those circumstances.
If all your experience and enthusiasm lead you towards a consultancy in office layout, and you live in a remote area of the countryside with no commercial offices in sight, then you perhaps need to adopt a very different approach. You might also consider adding ‘moving home’ to your business-plan. After all, you are perhaps looking at a completely new future for yourself and your family.
The question, “How many clients will I need?” is one that every consultant will consider, along with the matter of whether you want them to be long-term, low-turn-over clients, or to have a regularly-changing turn-over of the clients you work with is another.
Many experienced independent consultants, from various niches, will often share the view that you need five, six, seven or eight clients at any one time, if that is possible. Then if you lose a client you still have income from the others coming in, to enable you to keep paying your bills and not suffer sleepless nights.
So why not have 10, 20 or even 30? – It all depends on the nature of the consultancy business in question. But as the client-consultant relationship grows, it is likely that the client will ask for more and more diverse inputs, and the consultant’s workload will grow. Every client will expect to be the absolute number one on your list of priorities and while having a full schedule of paying clients may have a certain amount of comfort to it, when it turns into a situation where your personal bandwidth is exceeded, you could find yourself in a tight situation.
Having to work very long hours can be the least of your problems. It is likely to be a conflict of priorities that become the worst consultant’s nightmare to resolve. Two high paying clients wanting you to be with them on the same day for an all-day meeting. It does happen!

Internet Business
Posted on May 30th, 2009 in Marketing | No Comments »
Recent market surveys indicate that the growth rate of Internet purchases has been incredibly high during the last few years, and in spite of the conditions of the real world financial crisis that made the online orders register a corresponding decrease, things still seem very bright for the Internet. However, from this perspective, people who promote a service or product as part of an Internet business have many things to do before they can see the money rolling in.
E-retailing remains a profitable Internet business, but heavy marketing support is usually necessary to face competition and create profit. Behind the comprehensive online web catalogues that sell us all sorts of things, there lies a huge amount of work to support not only the web page as such, but to run continual market analysis and have a realistic picture of where the business stands on the e-market. A relevant example here would be that of the first-page search results on engines like Google and Yahoo.
The Internet business with the highest likelihood to complete a transaction is the one that appears first when a visitor types a keyword in the search box of the search engine. Consequently, the big competition between the various companies active online is to have a good page rank and a proper representation in the search engines.
This can only be achieved by the professional support of the web pages and constant monitoring of the site performance, judged by the number of site visitors and the resulting sales.
Just like for real-life money-making opportunities, an Internet business needs careful planning. Thus, one targets the market, gathers information on the competition, ensures good resources, attracts finances and funds, if necessary and takes the measures that build customers’ loyalty. Moreover, depending on the type of product or service offered, the Internet business could require a strategic alliance with other partners.
Therefore, for every Internet business idea you have, you need to find out whether there is a market to address. Then, if you lack the budget to invest, you have to seek alternative financing opportunities to support you entrepreneurial aspirations. And finally, you should never forget web site investment.
The design and constant support that keeps the Internet business running could cost you a small monthly fortune. However, your website is your interface, the place where the customer comes into contact with your product or service, and the impression has to be one of the best. All the best!

Build Your Own POWERBLOG Using The Marketing Strategy In this Article!
The simple blog creation and blog marketing strategies outline in this article may be old news to some seasoned marketers and an earth-shaking revelation for others. The question is. Are you implementing any of these tactics and strategies? The even bigger question is this.
Is it possible blogs are replacing websites as the marketing and traffic generation tool of the present and future?
By the time you get done reading this article…you will have a clearer picture of the POWERHOUSE that a self-hosted WordPress blog can be for you.
Most online bloggers get it that a blog is a tool for communication. It is not, however, until your blog becomes a two-way communication with your visitors that you have entered the Web 2.0 Social Networking Universe.
This article, then, is a quick lesson on
How to Use Your Blog as an Online Marketing Tactic for Generating Massive Targeted Traffic, List Building from that Traffic, and Converting Your Visitors into Buying Customers.
Onto the POWERHOUSE blog traffic generation strategy. Use it if makes sense in your situation. Refer back to it, when it does.
Newbies set up free blogs, or pay for month-to-month service. Professional bloggers pay for years at-a-time. I, personally, buy the maximum discount rate, provided by web host provider: 3 years. So, why would you do this? Anyone checking how long you’ve been online will determine you are here to stay. The secondary reason is to get the discount rate, itself, which is substantial, and will almost always give you unlimited domains, unlimited mysql and unlimited bandwidth. Choose a host provider with a full menu of services and a history of reliability and rare downtime.
1. Set up a long-term hosting account. Pay for several years up front. Reason? To establish a permanent presence, online. Anyone checking how long you’ve been online will determine you are here to stay. The second was to pay the discount rate, which brings the monthly rate down to as little as $2.86 for full services–unlimited domains, unlimited mysql and unlimited bandwidth. Choose a host provider with a full menu of services and a history of rare downtime.
2. FTP upload and install the latest version of WordPress. This is the self-hosted approach. It is the only one you will take, if you are serious about building your online blog marketing business.
3. Install Affiliate Template, investing in the unlimited site license.
4. Install at a minimum the following plugins.
* Adsense-Deluxe * Akismet * All-in-One SEO Pack * Anarchy Media Player * Feedburner Feedsmith * Google XML Sitemaps * MaxBlogPress Ping Optimizer * Simple CAPTCHA * Sociable * Statpress Reloaded * Traffic Getting SEO PluginTM Free Version * Unique Article Wizard plugin * WordPress Database Backup * wp-cache * WP-PageNavi * WP-Postratings * WP-Postratings Widget * wp-private * WP Auto Tagger The above list is constantly subject to my evaluation and potential replacement, as I continue to study the recommendations of other expert bloggers.
5. After activating all plugins, use the Traffic Getting SEO PluginTM Free Version to perform an amazing number of tweaks, usually around 40, which will SEO optimize your blog for maximum traffic generation from Google, Web 2.0 and Articles Marketing.
6. Google for Google AdBuzz. Locate a marketer who is giving the software away for free. Install Google AdBuzz on your Desktop. Use Google AdBuzz to research and choose a profitable niche market.
7. Use one of 41 available niche headers that comes with your Affiliate Template for WordPress.
8. Use the UAW (Unique Articles Wizard) plugin to deliver tightly targeted key-word rich articles to your blog. This begins the traffic generation process.
9. Join Unique Articles Wizard and write a minimum of 5-10 new articles per week. Unique Articles Wizard software will generate human readable article variations into the hundreds and submit them to targeted article directories, which will, in turn, generate backlinks to your blog, higher google ranking and potentially a tsunami of unique visitors over a period of a few weeks to a few months.
10. Use the amazing built-in features of Affiliate Template to create product reviews and links to your affiliate and resale rights product offerings.
Expand your marketing efforts into forums, classifieds and email marketing (your own mini-course, newsletter or ezine.)
11. Repeat this process for as many niche market blogs as you have time to set up and manage.
This article only scratches the surface of the potential in this multi-pronged internet marketing, web promotion and list-building tactics. This strategy includes
* writing and publishing articles using a very power articles marketing/publishing strategy * writing product reviews – the softsell approach to converting visitors into paying customers * text ad programs (affiliate power ads and Google Adsense)

How to create an effective business insight report
Posted on May 28th, 2009 in Marketing | No Comments »
Prepare the correct message – It is important that you choose content for the report based on your understanding of who your target audience is and how they will use the report provided. Get this right and you will ensure that the hard work you have put into the analysis will achieve the goals for providing commercial benefits to a business.
1) The level of detail required – This is the most important part of any report and you need to ensure that the level of detail provided will be relevant to your audience.
On a strategic level for example, a high level business summary will be required. It will need to look over the business as a whole and may well need to be broken down in subdivisions such as region, channel, and customer segment or product area. Doing this will help to alert the audience to any vital changes taking place within a business.
Whilst at a tactical level more detail needs to be given to assist them in understanding the changes. But you still need to provide a balance that hides details which aren’t necessary and could cause misunderstanding, yet provides enough detail to give them insight. This can be achieved through a combination of summarising and prioritising the results. So for example you should focus on the top customers or products to provide a sufficient subset that shows the impact they have on top level business results.
Whereas operational planning will take place at a much granular level for individual stores, products (product areas), customers (customer segments). For these types of audiences you will need to offer a more detailed report. It is tempting to think like an analyst who should present the information because they have it and because the work has been done. But this may well create a report with either too much information that won’t be used or too little usable information in it. So it is crucial to choose the right level of detail for your audience when creating an effective business insight report.
2) Spin on Content – It is regularly said that “statistics can be manipulated to support any argument”. This may imply and misuse of statistics the same principle can also be applied to ensure the effective use of reports, as a set of figures can be presented in a number of ways in a report.
It is vital to “manipulate” or present the content of a report in a way that is relevant to the audience so that the information is delivered to them. Although the word “spin” has negative connotations, we are in fact not talking about distorting the results but simply choosing a way to represent the numbers which:
1. Talks in a language the audience understand and helps to focus them on the main issues 2. Makes sure it fits the shape of the data and so highlights the main issues contained within
The examples that follow apply to all types of reports and illustrate some of the simpler points. But these points can be easily overlooked when a report is being created. By investing time in understanding one’s audience will help in choosing the way to present the results ensuring that the hard work done in the analyst will be converted into a message not only relevant but easily understood.
What are you measuring? Make sure you measure and report on things relevant to the audience. This could be something as simple as deciding whether to show the number of customers or their value to a business in terms of profit and revenue. Or it could be more involved for example you could count “genuine visitors” to a website by eliminating transient visitors and so will make the report more relevant that if you measured all visits.
However when it comes providing reports on a more operational level the volume of customers to a business would be more relevant. For example with in flight catering they need to know exactly how many passengers they are likely to have.
Whereas those who are involved in marketing communications need to be aware of the number of welcome packs they will need to provide new customers with. But on a more strategic level the level of profits or revenue generated by the businesses customer will prove more relevant. In the insurance industry for example they need to know how many additional customers they have because this may affect their profit margins as the new ones may be much more of a risk.

Annuity Leads Are a Scam
Posted on May 27th, 2009 in Marketing | No Comments »
It seems like I speak with an agent (every other day) who wasted money purchasing so-called annuity leads. When will agents learn, there is no such thing as an annuity lead”which can be purchased from a third party.
What is the difference between an annuity lead and annuity marketing lead? An annuity lead is purchased from a third party (lead company)”which have no interest in seeing you. An annuity marketing lead is a prospect acquired by marketing methods (seminar, radio, or non-seminar methods), which the prospect has an interest seeing you.
The wholesalers use lead companies as a lure to get the inexperienced agents to sign several contracts with their firm for a couple of free leads. The agent then believes that its just bad luck that nothing happened in the first round of leads, so they buy more thinking their luck will change”but it does not.
Yet the agent is still tied to the wholesaler. The wholesaler understands that 20 percent of these new agents will eventually pan-out, which they will make an over-ride”and the vicious cycle repeats itself.
Why do the lead companies use telemarketers in the Philippines or India? They are the primary countries that sell $5 dollars an hour telemarketing programs. In the United States, the costs for telemarketing are between $10 dollars an hour to $27 dollars an hour. It just makes economic sense not to use American telemarketers. So when the prospect picks up the phone the telemarketer will have a faint accent, which the prospect can clearly pick up”thus is more likely to slam the phone in your face when you call.
The worst problem is when you actually get to the prospects house”its run down, in shambles. You know right away these people are poor, but you go in anyway”hoping for the best. And you eventually take a fact find and find out the person is broke or has between $5,000 to $25,000 dollars in a CD they do not want to move.
There is only one class left that would pick-up the phone”and that is the poor. And when you qualify the poor, they will flat-out lie to the telemarketer, so they appear they have some money. No one wants to appear to be a vagabond to others, so its human nature to lie concerning their net-worth. Its like a fisherman telling a fishing story, the fish gets bigger and bigger every time they tell the story.
The middle class, upper-middle class, and the rich will not give (under any circumstance) a complete stranger over the phone (especially a foreigner), information regarding their portfolio (their life savings).
Agents dont realize that they can get an auto-responder service; get a telephone database for their specific neighborhood (screened for the do-not-call list), make automated phone calls that can ask a prospect a question, and have that lead sent directly back to their phone (live) for as little as 7/10ths of penny per call. But, then you come back to the point of someone actually with money (over 100K) actually taking the call”which is not very likely.
If youre serious about moving money, then youre going to need to work hard and market to solicit prospects using unusual marketing methods. I recommend you click on the following link if youre serious about marketing: annuity leads.
If youre serious about getting qualified leads with money, then you are going to need to market (on your own) to produce quality marketing leads. If you want a program that will help you produce (actual) quality prospects, then I would recommend you click on this link: annuity leads and follow the path of hard work and unique marketing directions.

What a fabulous business venture the import export business is
Posted on May 26th, 2009 in Marketing | No Comments »
If you are looking for a challenging career field, one that will let you learn new things every day, one which not many people know about, then you are looking at the import-export business. Is this career field as glamorous and exciting as it sounds? You better believe it! Is there another career field that will let you fly off to another country, learn about the customs, and look for particular items in far off places? The import-export business can be challenging, rewarding both financially and personally, but there are many risk factors as well.
Although you probably don’t know this, many people work in the import-export trade in one way or another, but there are cultural factors, weather factors, and ecological factors that you have in this business, which you don’t in any other type.
Of course, how well you do, will also depend on what the product you are selling is , who you are dealing with, and what your financial capabilities in the country you trade with are.
Your Marketing Strategies
Marketing will depend on the country you are selling in. Every country has different marketing strategies that revolve around a country’s beliefs, products, and the purchasing power of its consumer. It depends on factors ,like bank financing, credit card availability, and whether or not the country you deal with is a consuming country,or not.
Follow Government Rules
In any import-export business you have to deal with the country’s government regulations regarding trade, and you need to meet those requirements before you can import or export. These regulations can be found out at the government trade commission offices, and on their online sites.
The same holds true for the import policies of the country you are importing to. These will also differ from country to country and will depend on agricultural and product regulations. These requirements are often online or at the country’s trade commission offices. These requirements are not generally difficult to meet, and often it is just the filling out of a form, and paying importation fees that is needed.
Transporting of Goods
If you are in the import-export business then you will also have to learn about transportation. You will need to know which is the fastest, but most expensive form of transportation, and which is the slowest, but most economical. Some times you will even have to be a little creative in the way you get a product to a client. You may have to use transportation methods not generally used, but still very effective.
Import-export is a business with the same responsibilities of any other business, but it is exciting and full of adventure. You have to be open to learning about other customs and you need to be creative in communicating your needs (that includes using sign language). It is a field that is interesting, and different, everyday you will have new and exciting experiences.

Expert Advice from Adwords Management Service Co-CEO
Posted on May 25th, 2009 in Marketing | No Comments »
As Co-CEO of one of the leading Adwords Management Services I absolutely hate to see people get ripped off by adwords management services that don’t live up to the golden rules of adwords management. Not only do these certain companies hurt their clients but they also hurt the entire adwords management industry by giving the rest of us a bad reputation. I am writing this article to show you exactly what to look for so you won’t get burned by sorry, so called “adwords management”. I will show you exactly what to look for so you can be sure to find a top-of the-line adwords management service.
There are 5 specific, very important things you must look for when selecting a quality adwords management service. While it can be quite complicated to understand these 5 critical things or processes rather, I will tell you exactly what questions to ask so that you will find an adwords management service that is truly professional and on top of the adwords game. True Adwords professionals can answer the following questions. Be sure to ask and get answers to all of these questions before you dare outsource your adwords management. If the adwords management service representative can answer these 5 questions with answers similar or identical to the ones below, I’d say you are in good hands.
Do You Offer Split Testing? What is the importance of it? Firstly, the rep should of course answer. “Yes” to the fist part of this question. Split testing is a vital part of successful adwords management. Split testing is extremely important because it helps find which ads are most effective and which ads draw in the most clicks. It also helps decrease click costs because Google rewards better performing ads with lower click costs and higher ad placement.
How do you organize my adwords campaigns? Adwords campaigns should be organized and totally rearranged so that the keywords are divided into very closely knit, relevant adgroups. It is important that the top performing keywords are put into adgroups of their own in order to achieve perfect relevancy.
What steps do you take to Optimize my Ads? Don’t be fooled if a rep says, “We know exactly which headlines convert the best and we know how to write professional ad copy. Blah blah blah..” That is crap. Optimizing ads mean insuring the keyword searched on shows up 3 times in the ad; once in the headline, once in the ad text and once in the display URL. Google rewards these kinds of ads with higher ad placement and lower click costs. Google loves relevancy. Also Insure that the adwords management service writes a specific ad for each keyword you have. Anything less is simply lazy.
How Do You Adjust My Bidding? What’s the most efficient form of bidding in Google adwords right now? Its definitely bidding using Google’s Conversion Optimizer. If they don’t mention anything about that then guess what? That adwords management service is officially out-dated! Any professional adwords management service knows bid management with Google’s Conversion optimizer is the way to go. Nothing else beats it.
What Continuing education does your staff go through? You’d better believe continuing education is a huge part of successful adwords management. The Google Adwords world is always changing. If you’re not consistently studying and spending money on research then you will quickly fall behind. The most advanced adwords management services spend tens of thousands of dollars on continuing education. Don’t be afraid to ask for proof of continuing education. After all it is you money at risk.
